I don't think it's a matter of a program. If animator is good and creative he/she will make a good project on paper or with simpliest programm. I'm always surprised people are asking about software but not about the books I read, films I watch and people I listen and talk to.

I know how to animate, I was merely curious. After Effects does make a difference because in Photoshop you can only animate on one layer at a time, and in AE you can animate on many layers at once. I have not tried making an animated GIF in AE yet, however. That is why I was asking, mere curiousity. Other people ask you, I would guess, because they want to find the right tool. When an artist finds the right tool, he ceases trying to be a painter and simply paints. Bad programs make things much, much harder.

most part of my work was not digital or connected with internet and people still buy it and thank me for that. So I think that to be addicted to any programm is bad. Art is a way of life, but not just hobby.
